The choirs of Immanuel Congregational Church, South Church in New Britain, and Center Church in Hartford will combine with the Hartford Symphony for a celebration of the choral works of Ralph Vaughan Williams. This concert will mark the 50 th anniversary of the death of Vaughan Williams, and will also celebrate the 30 th anniversary of the performance by these three choirs of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion at the Bushnell. The centerpiece of this concert will be the deeply inspiring and affecting - and topical - Dona Nobis Pacem for orchestra, chorus and soloists.
The program will be conducted by Richard Coffey and Mark Singleton. Don’t miss out on this rare and sure-to-be rewarding opportunity to hear these works of this great 20th century master. Vaughan Williams wrote this music for large chorus and orchestra, and that’s just the way you will hear them!
